centerbolt offset

Stupid question alert.......

1978 f250 4wd.

I have possible frame/spring issues with my truck. before they begin yanking on it with a frame machine, which way to the front springs install.

I have skyjacker 6 inch springs, skyjacker says the shorter end of the spring should be forward. I just pulled them out and i am reinstalling and it feels to far forward to me. they were installed long end forward. the center bolt is offset by about 1 inch.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

There was a thread/question on this some time ago....I'm trying to find it.

i called to my local spring shop and he said normally the shorter end will be mounted to the frame and the longer end will be to the shackle.

I went ahead and installed that way and now my drag link is to long and i can not adjust it any more. BUT, i have a chevy 1ton set up and not OEM.

Looks like i am off to the frame shop for some straightening.
