New Guy Needs Basic Info

Hello...

I just recently acquired a 96 F-250 4x4 diesel to haul a travel trailer I bought. I've never owned a diesel before (I don't count the 1981 VW Rabbit diesel I once had!) and am slowly trying to get it "right." I just put in all new steering underneath. Replaced all the ball joints and even the tie rods.

I discovered the coolant temp gauge is non-functional. Where the heck is the sending unit on those 7.3's?

Other questions:
Is the turbo adjustable, in terms as to what RPM it kicks in? Mine seems to start at around 3000 rpm. But I'd like it to start at a lower speed if I could make it do that.

I think Sea Foam is absolute magic. Does anyone use that in their diesels?
