Any tips for getting them off? I can't seem to get a socket on them nor do I have enough room to get two hands in to keep the flexplate from turning...

theres a tool just for the flex plate to keep it still and to turn it... the bolts.. use a wrench... thats how ive always dealt with them autos.. crowbars work if you dont have the flexplate tool...

6 point shallow socket, and a propane torch.
Some nice, thoughtful person probably put lock tight on them, and you have to heat them a bit to get them broke loose.

Yeah, I got them, two clicks at a time... They appear to be steel lock nuts...

Was ready to start pulling bell housing bolts and the cross member when I realized that my transmission jack was here at home and not at my dad's shop...
