1996 7.3 no power

The guys have been *****ing to me that one of our work trucks isn't running right... Sometimes, with no rhyme or reason, it loses power, can't break 2000 rpm. This may go on for 5 minutes or an hour... At first it seemed to be worse when cold, I suggested maybe fuel filters, they replaced them with no luck... I had to drive the thing today and it is pretty bad... Couldn't make over 55mph. Talked with my boss this evening and we came up with maybe the waste gate is sticking??? Or related turbo problem?


It's a 1996 (I think) f350 7.3/zf5

First off I would have it scanned for codes. Make sure the air filter isn't plugged up. It could be a fuel delivery problem pump could be getting weak or you may have some crap in the tank. But you should have a better idea once you have it scanned..

Just thought I'd follow up... We had them fill up at a different station and it quit doing it... Bad fuel I guess.
