Hey everyone, we just came back from buying a replacement 2.3L block for my buddys four winns boat. We found his 2.3L had a crack between the second and third cyclinder. Well tomorrow im going to take this new one apart and check it out, and im just wondering how im suppose to time this with the cam being in the head?

Are you talking valve timing or ignition timing?

ummm... Both? Do you get what im saying or is it confusing? Im trying to say, the valves are open at a certain time, but the pistons on the block are in totally different spots to when i tore it apart. I need to figure out how to make the intake valves open on the intake stroke, the valves to be closed on the compression, and the exhaust valves to be open at the exhaust. I dont want them to be firing in an different order.. Hope this clears it up a bit.

Ok i figured it out, there are punch or drill marks on the Crank Pulley and the Camshaft Pulley..
