problem turning the wheels to the left

Vince or others,

86 F150 4x4 - truck was in an accident last week and took the collison on the right frame rail. Sheetmetal damage on passenger front corner.

Truck runs and drives normally but won't turn fully to the left. Only about 1/2 steering wheel turn. Turns to the right all the way to the stop.

Nothing visibly bent or compromised from the collision and is not binding or hitting the stops.

Any suggestions? Is it possible the steering gearbox did something strange?
Thanks,
Tim

If there's nothing physically blocking the steering linkage, steering box is a real possibility.

Thanks again - I picked up one at a local salvage yard today.

Merry Christmas!

It was the steering box. Swapped in the one from the salvage yard and it works like its supposed to. Thanks for the insight - always nice to run an idea past someone with day-to-day experience!
