Good reading, thanks Beach. That's why those of us that Mod, change the programming. :) That's why those that are stock should STAY totally stock.

I agree....

First, the question asked was about the EGR and the ONLY function of the EGR is to meet stricter EPA mandates for lower NoX (nitrous oxide)emmision levels.

Now the question becomes, how easy or hard is it to disconnect and/or delete the EGR and the EGR cooler without totally throwing off the programming of the PCM? With so many electronic sensors on this motor, how can a novice or non Ford engineer calculate the effects of changing one or two parts of the program and know that it does not adversely affect other components or performance?

It would appear that if one uses fuel additives to increase cetane, uses ULSD fuel due to less soot and particulate and uses a coolant filter to get the casting sand out.... many may have a great motor???

Bump the HP up with increased heat, fuel pressure, soot, and the like and the EGR valve and EGR cooler.. and other components just can't take it. Maybe a larger EGR valve with a larger EGR cooler would work... but who knows?
