did Ford ever put the 5spd behind the 351 in the half tons?

I believe that the M5OD is the only factory install. The ZF was generally in 250's and 350's. Have to watch the light 250's though, as they did put some M5OD's there as well.

I have a M5OD from a 250, the guy assumed every 250 got a ZF, as I did, so I ended up with a grenaded M5OD... Case is good, internals need replaced. I have actually seen several 150's with the 5 speed.

I wonder if the ZF could be had in the Bronco and F150 but
only because I read it in Ford's Spec Book and Shop Manual
that they could have a ZF.

It's no big deal to swap a ZF in tho. :)

Maybe the writers of the Spec Book and Shop Manual was
just covering their butts tho?

Because we all know...
"Ford never learned how to make the same part twice ;)"
-my Chevy buddies

Maybe "DSO outfits" were swapping then in?

I would expect it would be entirely possible Alvin. Can't confirm or deny it either way.

I've seen the M5 behind 351's in Eddie Bauer trucks...
Which M5? :)

M5OD-R2 = Mazda AKA: "M5OD" or M5R2
or
M5OD-HD = ZF

(M5OD-R1 = Mazda in a Ranger/Exploder)

ps- I don't know crap about this other than reading my butt off.
I have the Ford Shop Manuals and spec books. ;)
pps- I've only driven one Mazda M5R2 one time and didn't like it
at all. IMO--> 1st was too low and 2nd too high from a stop.
It was an '89 Bronco 300-i6 in real nice shape for $1800 with
the 31x10.5-15 tires on it, and the "top" was off. Cool, but didn't
like having to use 1st like in a car. YMMV
ppps- Gear ratios...

1990/96 F150/350 & Bronco.

Both the Toyo Kogyo (Mazda) R2 & ZF 5 speeds were available in F150/250's and Bronco's, the ZF was more commonly used with 4WD.

The ZF was the only 5 speed available for F350's & F(Super Duty).

Thanks for that, Bill, because I've been guessing at that information for like
two years now. LOL :)
