Ah, one of those don't know what you need it for until it shows itself projects... I have a number of things that don't get used that much but sure are good to have when needed.

The workhorse, 86 F250 4x4 6.9 nat aspirated, 3.25 exhaust, custom intake, electric fuel pump, otherwise well used stock... not real pretty but just loves to work!

The other heavy hauler, 92 F350 2wd dually crew cab, flatbed/toolboxes, 92 Cummins VE 12V with intercooler, NV4500 manual

The beater: 88 F250 4x4, 5.8 5 speed
The project ... 1978 F150 4wd shortbed 351 auto

yup.. could use it for dirt movement.. could use it for hauling bags of mulch.. could fill it full of tools... could even put the nephew in it and tow him around behind the go cart... not that id do that with him

A smaller trailer like that is handy behind a 4 wheeler or mower. Some have used them behind motorcycles as well.

our mower is a tractor with a 64" belly mower.... unless you count the small 22" push mower....

i was planning to pull the trailer behind the go cart i use to rake the lawn with.... that little 295cc engine is a good little work horse... they were rated 11-13 hp for the yr we got... earlier ones were around 9.5hp.....

New Hubs finally arrived...



so i hung them up to paint... yeah they were painted already... but i wanted some extra paint to keep the weather out...





also re-hung the vin tag in case i decide to ever run it on the street... not that the tires i bought are highway rated... but thats not hard to correct... shame i cant do it as a farm trailer but NC requires you have 10 acres to be considered a farm and register anything under that...

when they were selling the surrounding land of our property we couldnt afford it... the same people were selling the 33-1/3 acre lot that surrounded our 5 acres... but with the money tied up in 2 properties we couldnt buy it... one of the other neighbors bought it... hes been slowly clearing it to put a house behind where ours is...

theres another one for sale down the street but they want waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for it... 100K for same size lot thats way over priced...

Very productive day. Got the hubs reinstalled and the axle back under the trailer. Now the go cart has something new to pull around. Still debating on if i want to put lights back on it. unfortunately i had to go buy a castle nut, thrust washer cotter pin kit because i lost the fricken thrust washer somewhere... and no one sold it separately... used the cotter pin and the thrust washer but reused my castle nut since it was a little thicker than the new one...



hubs back on...



then put the tires back on...



i love that the tread matched the go cart..





axle back on the trailer...



the old square bolt. next to the new U-bolts... i had to cut the square bolts off and figured i could find new ones easily... pfft... couldnt find them anywhere in the right size... i could find them way larger or way smaller... closest i could come was the u-bolts...



luckily they came with some spanner plates so i just put them on the bottom to turn the u-bolt into a square bolt...



trailer behind the go cart..



looks a little militarish there in that color scheme... and just the right height too.. go cart pulled it around nicely..



and since i didnt have any hooks or things to connect the chains too.. i just hooked them in the back of the receiver tube... they didnt fall out no matter how many bumps i hit lol..

Finally got back to working on the trailer again. Got the boards all cut for the box. Right now working on sealing the floor boards with Thompson Waterseal. Also painted the hardware blue. Wanted to do it black like all the other hardware. I ran outta black so used blue.



Base board and floor board together sealed.



Bolts washers and angle brackets painted.
