Target leaving Canada, closing all stores

It was a short stay for the retail chain here, just shy of 2 years. Target is closing all 133 stores here in Canada, affecting a whooping 17,500 jobs! Target stated that they can not continue to lose money, and said it wouldn't be till 2012 to see profits.

Seems like Target is focused on clothing, which they have a lot of. Hardware, automotive, sporting goods are sadly lacking.

Having said that, I enjoy Target, because the crowds are usually minimal.

Wow. That's crazy. They're great here since I refuse to go to Walmart due to there treatment of employees.

Wow, can you infect them here in the States as well? Never cared for Target, selection sucks and better deals to be had at Dollar General.

When Dodge and GM build something that will compete with the F450, we'll talk.

It's like Wal Mart, except tailored for women. They cut out automotive, hardware, and sporting goods and focus more on grocery and clothes.

Exactly. Target is a place to go if you're looking for towels, small appliances, and maybe a shower curtain. WalMart had everyone in mind, camping gear, sporting goods/ammo, unbeatable prices on automotive fluids and MC oil filters, the yard/garden department, and cheap clothing, the kind you wear when you know you're going to destroy it and you don't care. And those old school buses that people are living in out in the parking lot (and piddling on the ground at 2:00AM)....feel free to lay on your horn as you drive by.

Trips to WalMart are like a first time adventure to a foreign country, you never know what strange, bizzare, crazy thing(s) you will see. Always always always bring your phone in the store (for the camera).
