A nice alternative - Also saying "Hello"

Hello,

My name is Ilya and I'm a Ford Truckaholic. I was referred here by Tim, "mtflat". It's nice to have another, and in my opinion, better alternative to that "other" Ford truck website. I plan to make myself at home here.

A little bit about myself... My wife bought the first Panel truck, the 51, back in late 2004 or so for her father. It has since become mine in a way since I'm the only one spending money on it while he gets to enjoy it from time to time. In about 2005, I purchased my own truck, this time it was a 52. That's when Bonus Built fever set in. (I also own a 37 Chrysler Airflow, but that's another story).

Since then, I must have had over a dozen trucks come through my hands that I've either parted out, put together and sold. I still dabble in parts to support my truckaholism. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. smilieFordlogo

Currently, I'm in the process of finishing the engine rebuild and installation in my 52. Once that's done, the 51 will be tackled as it needs attention.

I hope to contribute my knowledge amongst all of the other members on this forum. Thanks for having me.

Sweet old rigs! The is a late 40's panel near here, but they are pretty proud of it... needs a total resto. One window is either missing or just down all the time... It has changed ownership with the property, so hard to say what the title situation is...

Good to see you here Ilya - the engine is looking good. And I'm not sure I've ever seen a picture of the Airflow. That's beautiful - course I'm a sucker for suicide doors on most anything.

Ilya isn't joking about all the extra truck parts - his 'yard' is amazing.

Very nice looking trucks - i've always liked these earlier models and hope to own one myself one day.

I was hoping to get the engine in the Airflow rebuilt in the next few months, but my Airflow specialist guy is busy until this Fall. So, I have to wait until then, as I don't trust any one else with the car. He's well known in the Airflow Club of America for mechanical repairs and owns several Airflows himself, including two rare 37 Airflow limos (1 being restored and 1 is a parts car).

Too bad I don't have any 226 air cleaners and parts for you. :)
