"Domino Effect" Chores

I had some fun today with the truck. I started out by wanting to replace a single bulb behind the speedometer, and ended up cleaning out tons of old wiring from behind the dash, removing the bumper, sanding down the inside, priming, sealing, and mounting new lights on while the bumper was off. I remounted the bumper, because it was hanging crooked to begin with. I didn't take a photo every step of the way, but here's when I remembered.

other angle, after I loosened it, and it feel to it's lowest point

those two pictures were the mounting brackets that seem to have 'slipped' causing my crooked bumper in the first place.

Those two are the inards of the bumper. I sanded them down, primed them, and sealed them, so hopefully it won't rust for a while.

Everything back together

Anyway, that was my day of fun.

Looking good. I love it when a simple project becomes an all day chore.

And you did this willingly, without anyone submitting a work order? Jeez! I'd rather be beat, than change oil in my own vehicles! Donna threatened to take her car to another garage once to get me to service her escort!

the only advice i'd have offered were i there, mount the lights in the grill. they'd be almost invisible yet functional. but good project.

oh yeah... dead fish on the cat, dead squirrel up the muffler, unicorn stickers on the dash. nothing mean though

I actually thought about that carl, and the lights I purchased a couple years ago wouldn't quite fit. I drillled the holes, and ever since, I like the look. The reason I had to replace the lights, though, is because one time I was under the hood, and standing on the bumper. In the first picture, you can see what remains after that project. I stepped on one and heard a 'crunch', and then an "aaawwwww ****"

Hey, my 12 EEE's would NEVER fit in THOSE things!

Besides, there's nothing burned in your lawn, is there?

Thank you thank you! Thought the old one was way too big so I downszed!

Lol. That picture reminds me of the house landing on the wicked witch of the west.

Nice write-up, Ryan.... I forgot to say that. It really was.

ah, you know, though, Tom... I always forget to take all the pictures I SHOULD have. I get into what I'm doing and totally forget to keep snapping photos.

At least you took SOME; most of the time I get to finishing a job, and pop myself in the head for not taking pics!

that pic tom made deserves an oscar. the story tells itself
