Glass went in today!

I couldnt help myself and installed LEDs in the front.

Of course the rolling out of the garage shot. My Girl and I are in it for the long voyage. Man, half throttle, that thing lights up them rear 12s, and that exhaust note is just right.

This is temporary, but the best of looking temporary i could do. Solid piece of wood, dont judge as I do not have the time to break out the band saw, and router, and all the stuff to really pretty the wood up. Test fit, and slats all look good. The raw look will look nice for a while, yes I did put polyurethane on the wood.

Slats did not stay raw, I shot a coat of aluminum on them for the time being.

Dont hate, as this round got NO rust repair. It needed to drive itself on and off the trailer when I move. The problem areas were addressed, and the frame, suspension, brakes, fuel system are all brand new. Tail lights do work, I got some temporary lights wired and while I was at it I wired in a trailer harness because I do want a same year long bed to haul behind it. I do however, have an issue with the ignition hot wire, I do NOT have turn signals, wipers, and I didnt have brake lights (another issue) due to the high amount of hack scotch locks that were installed by the PO. I will have to go back and un-FTFFTFFTFFTF the wiring and clean it up really nice.

Also do not have a right output signal to the front passenger side bulb. I have running light, but no hazard, traced it back, could be in the wire or somewhere further up.

Tomorrow bed and Fenders will be back on, and truck will be basically complete ready for the move, then once there, I will address somethings, drive it till i get another truck, and blow this one apart for a full restoration.

Heres the bed, its very temporary, but nice for what it is and the price I paid for the wood. Polyurethane brought the nice color out, and when I really make the fancy bed, itll be done right and done this color too. raw, with some silver painted slats, and the blue on the truck will look really nice.

Nice to see its coming along.
Scotch locks are just problems waiting to happen.
Who ever made those should be wired to a coil with scotch locks attached to their private parts,oh wait it would work because of the scotch locks.

Glad your making progress ,it don't have to be perfect!...:)
That wasn't my concern when I did my truck ,my goal was to get
something done to it an preserve what is there ,an to make it
look descent.

But anyway ,glad to see you & family enjoying the truck together an
its lookin great!...smilieFordlogo

Preach man. I FTFFTFFTFFTFing hate scotch locks. I use them to temporarily solve an issue, then completely rewire right.

Oh yeah, and when I move itll be used as a truck until I find the right bed, and start the full restoration. I want this to be my promo/show/parts truck for my restorations.

The family will miss it when Im gone.

Great news on the truck running again! I've always liked the bullet grilles in the 66 trucks.

I like em too. I want to do some custom stuff with this one, including shaving every emblem on it. Custom work is easy, and I can do it with pic provided below on my dodge. Even though its in primer/satin stage right now :rofl:

All bolted down now and already getting stuff put in the bed. I need a tailgate! Thats the only thing I didnt get with the truck. I love the look, and the height, and the slight stance it has.

Ignore the Viper hood on the truck. Its not going on the Ford, thats for another custom project :D

Thanks guys. I love that color, and I will definitely make the color I already have in mind have that little touch that makes the wood look super good. Of course it will get its use, and the wood will have to be redone, but that look is the color I want now.

This will be the last post for a while. I will be leaving in the morning to move to Texas. The Ford will stay with my parents until my dad journeys out to bring it to me.

Unless my dad tinkers with the truck while Im gone, it will stay in one spot.
