How much...

... does my bed weigh?

A single wheel bed is "around" 500 lbs. If your flares are fiberglass, there won't be too much more additional weight. Dropping things like the tailgate and bumper will decrease the weight, also.

I don't have anything to back it up, but I'd shave 100 pounds or more off that estimate.

350-400? I have taken this bed off with the help of my parents (no dually flares) and I got one side of it completely by myself.

I would say so Doug, when I moved my box (short) it wasn't no 215lbs!

Okay then. I'm dreaming up a rolling stand for painting the bed... again.

Look through my 79 thread, there are a couple of stands in there...used scrap wood and $15 in casters.

What are the rough measurements of the stand for the bed?

I would say around 5' long, 3' wide and about 2' high.

That's about what I was thinking. I've already got a rolling base that I'm just adding 3 3'x2' frames onto with some sort of 2x4 across the top length wise. Should have that done tomorrow.

When I needed stands, I always liked building saw horses out of 4x4's...cheap, easy and once you have all the supplies can be thrown together in a matter of minutes.

I got the 235lbs for the LWB off of my '89 F250, when I pulled the bed off to put the welding bed on, it had this weight written in grease pencil on the frontside (at the plant???)

I got the 215lbs for the SWB from my uncles '92 F150, he said thats what it weighed when he took it to the scrapyard.

The box delete options show a weight of 354 lbs for the SWB,
and 389 lbs for the LWB.
Cool thanks for that. :)

ps- Your numbers helped me find 'em in the fuzzy scan! :)
Notice there's a front/rear weight that needs to be either added or
subtracted from the other, to get the total off-the-truck weight.
-16 on the 133" so... 389 -16= 373#
+8 on the 117" so... 354 +8= 364#
And those figures include the tailgate and hardware, I can weigh a
tailgate and hardware separate easy enough if anyone is interested.
