351W Thrust Bearing

Just want to get some thoughts before I pull my motor apart.

I had the thrust bearing go out, my fault I put the pilot bushing in wrong.

I ordered a crank and crank kit to put in, my question is with the thrust bearing out will that have an affect on the pistons/connecting rods? Do they have any play front to back?

Should see .010-.020 clearance between rods. I'd like to see .014 on the average build. Max is .023.

Hold piston flat on table and try to rock the connecting rod across the wrist pin axis. If there is any play, it's no good.
