Very accurate and true. Flux wire is OK but iis much harder to use. Likes to make little piles of bird poop welds or BB's.

And the welds break.
If you reverse polarity in the machine, it's better, but just use gas, and learn right , right from the start

Oh, and don't weld in the wind........

ive welded oxyacetylene.. stick.. mig, flux core and tig... i liked them all, didnt really have problems with any of them.. for the machine your looking at there its a good starter machine.. and will handle alot of small to some medium sized jobs.. like others have said.. if your going to do mig youll want to get the shielding gas bottles... theyre really not all that expensive and come in several sizes.. and migs very forgiving.. gassless flux core is usually better when welding larger projects.. such as metals at and over an inch thick..

one thing you didnt mention is what your eventually planning to weld with it..

Thank you. I just want to learn how to weld. Most projects would be small involving iron. For example the brace for the steps into our 5th wheel camper broke off because they had just been spot welded at each corner, and a very shoddy job at that. I want to weld the brace for the full length of the step, so it is more sturdy, etc., etc.

Mig, gas. grind, and clean everything, and weld in 1/4" spots. jump back and forth an inch at a time to keep it from heating up. heat = warping
Paint everything all purrdy when yer done........

Think about 10 pounds of sand rolling around inside your eye sockets, and you will get similar to what flash burns feel like. Which is why the autodark helmets are good, but make sure to buy a good one as the cheapies are worse than head flipping...
