okay. can you get your figure on the back side of the braket? to replace the nut.a punch and hammer might brake the nut off. torch might do it.

This is why I hate easy outs. Doug, something to keep in your back pocket >>>>>> last time I broke an easy out and everything failed at removing it, I ended up grinding the end of a pair of needle nose pliers in a manner that allowed the narrowed end of them to be inserted into the space around the easy out and the broken bolt, then rattle, etc the easy out around, and back it out and remove with the needle nose pliers. Seems to me I may have whacked it first with hammer and a punch to help disgorge the easy out. Oh, where was the problem? On one of the two bolts that hold the thermostat housing onto the intake of the 50-70+ intake of a SBC; as such, it HAD to come out and the hole had to be cleaned up and threaded.

I like lorddurock's idea of de tempering the easy out... Never tried it before but it seems like it would soften it enough to drill it out. I can hook you up with a can of Yield if you like. It's pretty potent stuff and will get you out of a bind sometimes. Biggest thing is whether it can penetrate enough or not. I've almost always had success with bolt/nut combos, blind holes are a crapshoot.
