Finally worked up the courage to do this job yesterday with taller jack stands and 2x12's underneath the jack stands. I bought some really nice aluminum jack stands that are lightweight, yet durable. The job took about 2 hours.

I picked a few of the taller 6 ton stands just to eliminate the need to elevate the regular ones... I have quite a few 2 ton, and 4 - 6 ton. Needless to say I doubt I will ever stress the 6 ton stands...
