Pretty much a done deal on the 10HP unit, but owing to the van coming in and the work needed on it to get it going, I'm going to hold off until it is finished...so a couple of months.

So...it would seem that with a refrigerated air dryer, risers and drains (esp. where I live) are not needed....I like that.

With the van being delayed now, I might move on this quicker...talked with a local place today and the price was higher...did some investigating and seems that the other place where I got my original price did not include the prefilter or air dryer....grrrrrr.

It's a piss off when you get a price and accept it only to find out it's not the price...I get that it was a mistake, but dammit anyway.

Local price here is only a couple of hundred higher that having it shipped from down East, so I think I will just get it here

Then they want to sell you a specific disconnect and fuses...if you buy it from them, they warranty the VFD for 5 years....so I investigated....without getting into technical crap, a VFD....(variable frequency drive) alters the 60hz powerline to different frequencies allowing for no motor inrush and the abilty to control rpm and motor power output.

The thieving pricks want over a thousand dollars for something that costs about $375 from my wholesaler...something I would sell for about $500.

I get where they are coming from....people put standard time delay fuses in which will allow potential overcurrent and fry the IGBT's in the drive..and then want warranty.....

Basically they are very fast acting fuses...HSJ....HS..high speed...J...600 volt.

Cool part is that the VFD alters the motor power output from 4hp to 10hp....monitors the air pressure and flow and controls the motor to maintain the output that is called for.

Thank you for elaborating on the magic. You've further demonstrated that you are well versed in magic.

We have problems with VFD's that run at the low end of the Hz scale(30 Hz) for long periods of time. They tend to trip off a lot.
