1967 Ford Wiring Question

Ok my gas gauge isn't working and i learned that it may have somehting to do with the ground. Can i just run the orange wire from the sender straight to the gauge and ground both the sender and the gauge then hook it up to the ignition? Or how do i do it?. Thanks

The fuel sending unit's float is made from two pieces of copper soldered together.

Solder breaks down, gas seeps in, float settles to the bottom of the tank.

The float (COAZ9202B) is available from Ford and fits ALL 1957/79 Passenger Cars/Trucks, 1966/79 Bronco's & 1961/79 Econolines.

To the OP...NO you can't

The gauge works on a 5 volts pulsing power from the ICVR behind the instrument cluster.
This also runs other gauges.Temp and Oil

Bill mentioned one possibility, another is BAD ground at the tank to frame

The SU grounds cvia the locking ring..they RUST UP BADLY and lose continuity..since it can't ground out, there isn't any reading .
