Glow plug relay

I bought this 96 f250 to flip, it was hard starting on cold mornings, and when it would start would blow heaps of white smoke. I changed the icp and it was good for a couple of mornings that wasn't very cold but has been difficult the last couple mornings. I tested the gpr tonight and it wasn't powering the glow plug side at all. So I changed it out and now it stays on for maybe a minute after the engine is running? Is this normal? I presume they go off after the engine starts or after the wait to start light goes out?

The wait to start light can go off but the glow plugs can still be on (that's normal). Its kind of heat based, so, I wouldn't worry about it.
