Valve cover question

ok heres the deal. I have a 91 ranger with a 4.0 the valve covers are rusted out and leaking real bad. I was wondering if mid-late 80's 2.9 vavle cover will swap out on the 4.0 i have a few pairs of those. thanks jdk

i dont see why they wouldnt fit. your best bet would be to test fit one of the 2.9 covers on your 4.0 just to make sure you have enough clearance for everything under the cover and to make sure all of the bolt holes match up properly. if im not mistaking the 4.0 and 2.9 are the same block castings but they do have their differences in everything else
