auto or manual? ratings differ by 5. approx 145/150 hp; 260/265 torque, auto/manual.

my dads truck gets 16-18 mpg with 210,000 miles. mine got like 12 no matter what but i have it hot rodded. is ur 94 going to be 4wd? i would with a tune up and **** probably 13-16 average.

My 1980 F-150 300-6 got about 11 or 12, I also had a 1992 F-150,that got about 18,my current rig is a 1995 F-350 w/300-6,she only gets about 10-11mpg,but man what pullin',workin' son of a gun that truck is!

dood i have no idea what ur saying. from what i gathered, u want to know if the 300 will go like the 302...and the answer is no. it'll boogy, but dont expect it to see the high side of 80 and like it. it will get off the line quicker though and it'll lug itself better.

The 300 is slow. It's more of a tractor engine. Think of it as a non-turbo diesel engine and drive it as such. You will appreciate the low end grunt, realiability and fuel economy.

If my 95 F150 had the 300 instead of the 351 I would not be selling it.

The better fuel economy in the 90's is from a redesigned "fast-burn" head. Chances are she won't Get up n go like a 302 no...but she'll have plenty of torque for ya, so starting from a stopsign with a load (even if it is just a DD) will be no problem. Also, check what gears you have...that can make all the difference.

Mine even sounds like a Tractor.:D

When I was dumber and didn't particularly care for the 300,I put my truck up against an 85 F150 302 FI 8.8/w 3.55's in a pullin contest.I'm runnin a 300 9" w/2.75's.Nether of us went anywhere. He was tryin,I was tryin. My rear ratio wasn't any help at all.We just sat and spun the tires.I'm pretty sure the 300 helped that out.Looking back,I would never put the truck through a pullin contest, but I did find out she can hold her own.

if you both weigh roughly the same, and you are both spinning your tires, no wonder neither of you moved... Its all about traction.
