There will be one shackle on the middle of the bumper on the bottom. But that will be okay. I need to build the base plate for the winch to bolt to I think 5/16 is what is usually used.

Took the words right out of my mouth. The saw mill has taught me that if you think you`ll be alright, go a little heavier. Plenty of bracing is not a bad thing either. And I would put two shackles on it, in line with the ends of the frame.

i'll design something the i can bolt a piece to the mounting brackets to have shackles on either side. it will have dual brackets anyway and then a few braces off of them to support the sides a bit. plus it will weigh 100+ pounds and have some weight on it from the winch and a few other things.

the warn website said 1/2 inch at minimum and you can go as thick as youy want as long as the bolts are 3/4 of an inch into the winch

bumpper is coming along good but thursday i was grinding some welds flat and put more pressure on it because i had about 3 more minutes and ended up pushing the bumper over and making a dip that i have to reweld and grind off again. luckily i caught both the bumper and grinder could have been ugly. put a couple pics up shortly. they aren't the best just had my phone
