Holy crap, I think I'm going senile....you even mentioned that in your post :headbang:

lol no worries man.. it happens to us all... ive been having that kinda day today due to the hectic day at work... i thought i had it all planned out... then i took the filter out there tonight to hold up around where id planned to mount it on the truck... then started rethinking my design a bit... think im gonna make a bracket to mount to the frame.. then mount the filter housing to the bracket...

well originally i was going to mount it to the outside of the frame... but after playing around with it the reason im going to make a bracket is because i was thinking the filter would fit better on the inside and just run the lines down the outside of the frame,,,

welp i got good news... good news... and bad news...

First the good news... was tinkering around on the truck and discovered this...

IMG-20130604-00388_zps520742a0.jpg

a happy healthy turbo :) so the oil im finding in the intake pipings not from the turbo YAY!!!!...

so that means when i get that CCV filter installed i shouldnt have any more problems with the oil vapors saturating the pipes...

bad news.. which i discovered sunday :( while the turbo might not be leaking..

Amazing how you don't notice the shocks going bad until it gets real bad!!

yeah... i noticed it rode rough when i first got the truck... but was always told 1 tons dont ride smoothly... the more i drove it the louder the shocks got.. due to financial issues i couldnt get to them till now... now the truck rides smooth as an ice skater at the Olympics...

If a repair is not covered by you warranty the deal is last Place I go . I have at least 6 garages that r good here 2 of which are former Ford employees . And the cost R half as much

But the caliber hanging after new rotor is common .
But Your repairs r Normal things that go wrong on a 10 year old truck Plus being offroaded . Good luck but a non gas truck can be pricy ..

i try to do all my own work when i can unless i have a warranty.. so far ive been lucky that all the major things have been covered... there are some things that wont.. and at any time the warranty company can up and say "no were not covering this" which is the one thing i hate about the paperwork.. it left them a loop hole.. but theyve said yes everytime so far..

i gave up with doing the seals myself on the rear... 3 seals 3 leaks.. i said F-it and let them play with it when the 3rd went. hasnt leaked since..

well lets see... what can i update yall on... havent really done much lately... truck had been in to get the front axle seals re-done since they started leaking pretty good.. but think i already told yall about that... got done for free by ford.. said it was a defective part since they had just done them...

I had been checking the tranny fluid pretty regularly but everytime i checked it was looking good... but was always checking it when cold and was always at the top of the cold line... finally a week ago while it was warm i checked it and found this..

1005435_519351984784953_668010299_n_zpsd2217c02.jpg

very very dry dipstick... i went out and got 2/3 case of tranny fluid for it (woulda been full but had to clean out 2 o'reillys to get that)...
IMG-20130707-00537_zps09eef074.jpg

dumped 3.5 qts in and it read full on hot.. but week later of driving around and ive noticed its already dropped.. ntm its shifted colors too.. no puddles on the ground so theres only 1 place i can figure its going and thats into the radiator.. color hasnt shifted in the radiator tank... but with it not being in the main flow i can understand why..

Theres an ultraviolet dye that you can add to the fluid to pinpoint any leaks. If your truck is a 4x4, it can leak from the trans into the transfer case.

its got an appointment to go in on thursday... i sure hope its not going into the transfer case... just changed its fluid a few months ago and upgraded the transfer case to royal purple since its spec'd for any transmission fluid... trany stated specific... :(

As to the previously noted tranny leak.. dealer couldnt find where its going... then claimed i over filled it... pfft...

Welp in loom of an impending Inspection next month i went ahead and changed some lenses and sockets... the tail lenses because of VA's "rob you blind" find anything wrong policies... and the some of the fender lights with new sockets... couple of mine had busted tangs and would randomly go out.. (pretty sure they wont take the "just tap on it itll come on" answer lol)

oldpasslight2_zpsf69b6cae.jpg

busted one from the pass side... they woulda failed due to it being cracked...

oldtaillights2_zps8addc3b4.jpg

pass side kept getting water in it...

I also upgraded the fuel system a little by changing out the 6.0 banjo bolts with the 6.4 banjo bolts...
