Interesting article. Would they be required to add methyl mercaptan to the CNG,LNG before using it, like they do LPG?

yes.

since most cng is pulled straight from the grid before compressed, mercaptan is already in the gas.

in fact when you change a cng fuel filters, a small amount of liquid mercaptan will be captured in the bottom. of the canister.

save it up and prank a co-worker.

More than likely it would not be required in an industrial setting. Reason being that everything that is on a location where hydrocarbons are present are required to be at least Class 1 Div 2 rated, if not Class 1 Div 1. None of the natural gas that is used in compression or production equipment (dehy's heater treaters, production heaters ect.) for fuel, is required to have odorant added, due to area classification and equipment safety requirements.

i get it for like 50 cents a gge (gasoline gallon equivalent )
