Mach I, would be a 302 V8... I had a 4 banger with 4 speed that was the same main color. Actually liked the car, wasn't horrid for performance, but had the fuel mileage of a V8...

It was the V6 2.8L (iirc) with a 4 spd manual - I remember replacing the timing gear that blew up at about 31K. Cast steel hub with moulded nylon (?) teeth. Not one of Ford's better ideas.

Bottom pic shows my wife walking downhill in the red jersey... she showed up after neighbors stopped to tell her about the wreck.

I was just a poor college student at the time. You might notice the mis-matched tires 'cause I could only replace two at a time. Ahhh, those were the days lol

I still have a soft spot in my heart for the little MII's. Would have liked one of the '78 Cobras.

However, after this was totalled I bought my first Ford Pickup that ultimately brought me here. New '77 F100 300 six with 3 on the tree in Dark Jade Metallic paint.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2015!

I never would have expected a V6 in a car with the Mach name on it...

Very little fuel spillage. Kind of unusual for those 1/4 turn gas caps.

nice!! the Cobra II's were big around here up into the mid 80's. A guy I knew had the King Cobra option, was awesome, had the T top sun roof too! (Think he swapped a 351W.) The Cobra's were styling with the louvers, and the non-functional hood scoop, and fancy rims. And didn't hurt that Farrah had one
