What happened there? I can't quite make out what is going on. My cheap laptop washes out colors pretty badly.

Yep, was attempting to swap the sensors, aftermarket unit in the Capri stock sensor in the manifold. Put some leverage onto it and it gave...

Send the old chook out for the afternoon Eric then put the manifold in the oven ( keeps the domestic peace if she doesn't see this side of the operation) and heat it up for an hour or so then you will be able to weld that up nicely ....... just make sure you let it cool down in a sandbox or similar then once its cooled off drill it out and tap a new thread

Just going to pick up a new/used intake, there's a couple I've found for $120 or less.

Besides this intake is old school, its called the Streetmaster. From what I can find its from the '70s... I know I can weld it but is it really worth the effort on 40 year old technology...

What..no AlumAlloy? Kidding of course as I'm a super glue guy.

Nice progress in seriousness.

All that's left up top is plugs/wires, oil, coolant, valve cover, carb and linkage. Underneath is exhaust.

Just after painting, used two coats of paint stripper then sat it on top of my propane heater and burnt the oil and paint off. Quick douse with carb cleaner took the loose stuff off and left me with the perfect surface for painting.
