6.4 down. Think Turbo

I was diving home today. 1/2 mile from house I thought trailer tire blew. Whitish grey smoke out of exhaust. Fire right up, idles rough, will not build boost unless rev it up pretty good.

09 SRW F350. 86000 miles. Spartan tuner. 250 Hp tow tune. 5" exhaust.

Check the boots on your CAC tubes (just like your 6.0). The rough running will need some diagnostics.

The signs point towards a high pressure turbo. Does it still smoke white when starting it afterwards? Have you checked your oil?

^^ would look here first.. even a slightly off boot can look like its still on but wont allow boost to build until reved hard. even then will be light build too

also does it hiss when you rev it?? if it does it might have also popped the exhaust up pipe off the turbo too. 6.0 and 6.4's are both known for doing this. especially if the turbos been recently removed. if theyre not centered right or the clamps arent tightened properly it tends to happen..
