I need a hood for a 72 250

Soooo......even though I had a hood fly off of a 73 truck before; it happened again. And what's worse is I didn't even get it back. I finished yanking it off on the side if the interstate, cut the hood light wire and hauled butt. It's great on sunny days.....truck runs cool as a cucumber. But it isn't too cool getting water in your carb and having to let it dry out for a day before you can crank it again. I can't seem to find a hood for this thing. If I'm not mistaken, LMC doesn't have them for the fifth gen.. I'm gonna check their digital catalog again, or give them a call after the holidays. But does anyone know where I can get a hood for this truck. I'm getting desperate because I need the truck in running order so I can work. Any help would be appreciated.

Also; I noticed this truck has snow tires on it. Will those wear out prematurely if used year round? It doesn't really know in Louisiana too much.

Hood is the same: 1967/72 F100/750 & B500/700 (School Bus).

People tend to slam the heavy hood down, which over time, causes the lock plate to bend downward.

When this occurs, the hood will fly up, sometimes hitting the top of the cab. Not pleasant!

A junkyard may be your best bet... as Bill said the medium duty trucks and school bus chassis of the era also had the same hood. Any reproduction ones you’ll find are probably gonna be expensive, and if LMC did have one it would quite possibly be of dubious quality.

Not exactly sure what you mean by snow tires but for the most part any mud and snow type all terrain tire in light truck sizes is gonna be something you can run year round with no problem

Are the hood hinge supports the same on the fifth and sixth gen?

Might just swap hoods and her the 72 back rolling for now.

Thanks
