My 1950 F3 Bread Truck

Hello all! I just picked up this 1950 F3 (or so I believe) Bread Delivery Truck.

She runs, drives and stops, but just around the block for now. I’ll be digging in to her to make her road-worthy over the course of This Spring and Summer.

Thanks- she does need a solid cleaning for sure, too.

I was told by the PO that it was part of the old column shifter, but I haven’t investigated.

Yup, That's an old shift tube
She must have had a "three on the tree" in an earlier life

Your Parcel Delivery is not an F-3, it’s an F-5 based model. Its Budd type 5 lug x 8” pattern, dually rears, and most likely a 134” wheelbase are the give aways. The column shift was original on these trucks operating the 3HD tranny. And according to James Wagner in his Ford Trucks Since 1905, page 239, these were first available in the later part of 1949.
