If you decide not to go the LEB route, you are correct, the stock '79 parts will bolt right in and convert the inverted-y to t-style steering. You'll need the pitman arm, drag link, both tie rod ends, the adjustment sleeve and two clamps.

Either way you'll be better off than you are now
