I have a 1978 Ford F100 4x4 with a 1992 Big Block 460 im building. Im wanting to make a custom gauge, how hard is it to hook up a sunpro speedo?

Easy 4 wires

Blk -grd
Bue - light
White- tach signal
red - Power

Explain stock Cable ?....

The Tach has 4 wires

red to power (Under dash)
Blue > Light (Connects Under dash)
Ground > (Connect under dash)
White > Signal..run to TACH (-) terminal to coil

Coz he was asking about a speedo.......:D

Stupid me :(..............

I think Tach

What will the electronic speedo use as a rpm sender ?

There isn't any Electronic speedo signal source and the 78-79 uses the OEM speedo cable/with cable sensor.

You may ave to rob the system from a newer truck with sensor on the driveshaft or transmissin

Best check with the manufacturer of the speedo, I recall in the old days, some worked and some didn't.

im buying a sunpro speedo and i was hopeing it would work in the stock cable but ti think its all electrical, so ill have to buy an adapter kit
