Any predictions? We are a NDP riding. I think it may be close with the libs here. Its kinda looking like Harper may have another term. Majority? They say its going to come down to what Quebec does. I never understood how a province that doesn't want to be a part of the country has so much voting pull. Its crazy how many riding they have.

Predictions?....whomever gets in will continue to screw us over.

I'm becoming very disillusioned with all the parties, between taxing people more for working harder, giving $$ away to other countries while we have issues here and the continual lying and scandals by the PC's I don't know what to do.

FWIW, I actually saw a car with a bumper sticker that read, "Trump "...next line, "Make America great Again".

*Trump confuses me, he's and his boy have big campaign contributions to Hitlary and in fact, the Don invited that DRLCB to his wedding.

Yesterday was awesome.....Ontario and the East Coast voted in the Liberals.

We are royally FTFFTFFTFFTFed here in the West

The worst part is that our new Prime Minister is the son of the biggest POS that ever ran our country.

:(

Bright future, Eh?

If you are a factory worker or other educated person working in fisheries or other subsidized seasonal job, then the future is bright....same as if you are a downtrodden minority or other ethnic group.

For the rest of us that have worked, moved, dealt with what the economy hands us and weathered it, we are screwed.

I had a feeling it was going to red this time. I wasn't expecting it to be a majority. I don't know how I feel about the change yet. I feel bent over by Harper and his corporate friendly ways. Majority of Canadians are not business owners who also work hard for their money.

A great deal of Canadians own their business and are incorporated...thus making them in instant "evil corporation"

We are incorporated, a requirement pretty much dictated to us from WCB, Insurance and builders we work for.

Corporations seem to get targeted by people as the owners are seen to be making "big bucks"

Lets' see...

I do a job for a person....then I am left to collect from that person, usually within 30 days, sometimes 60, sometimes never...please don't suggest that I can collect as that is a complete waste of time and more money...(if it goes delinquent).

After I do the job, I have to pay my employee...he or she isn't going to wait 30 or 60 days until I get paid.

Then I pay my supplier....ditto on the waiting.

Then there is payroll tax to the Gov't...gee , we get a whole 14 days to pay on that and if you want to see criminal fines and penalties for being late with that you would truly shit.

I realize that there is an east/west divide in Canada and that has been like that from day one starting with the balance of the population there, which even today holds true. At one point Ontario was a manufacturing powerhouse, much like Detroit...people having well paying jobs for working in assembly plants and supported by unions whose mantra (like any union) is "do less for more money"

Then the oil/gas/resource industry in the west began to produce $$$....to which billions began to transfer to Ottawa to then be distributed to Provinces that perhaps didn't have enough revenue (for whatever reason)...hey, I'm patriotic and that is cool.

However, once that money vacuum was turned on, it was never turned off and has created an attitude of distrust and resentment from east to west...liberal to conservative.

I have worked with a great deal of people from the East and a person hates to generalize, but the attitude is

"I'm here to work, make money, then go back home"....so, they come here, will work at less than the prevailing wage to get the work, and then bugger off to in many cases "collect EI" for as long as they can.

On the other hand, I have friends from the east who can't believe and don't understand the attitudes of the rest...they have moved out here for opportunity and advancement.

Then there was the icing on the cake...the National Energy Program....how awesome was that...sell oil to the east at below world price and then purchase the refined product back also at a higher than world price.

I've spent the last 30+ years working my ass off from nothing....then when I get told that my corporate tax is going up because I make more....and then my personal tax is going up because I make more and have done well for myself, where the hell is my motivation to work harder?

Anybody that works hard for their money should be keeping more of it...Liberal and Socialist Governments do not operate that way...they merely want to make the "wealthy" pay more to "poorer"

Corporations are an easy target for the masses to point a finger at and it seems to be inbred into the X and Y Generations.

Duncan, that pretty much sums it up.

In my closed mind it does.

The really messed up part is the way in which this divides our country by region...Quebec, well that is a different matter that will only be resolved in one way which won't happen.
