1973 F-100 4x4

'77 F-250 Custom 4x4
I'm trying to put as little into this truck as possible, as I bought it for the engine and wiring harness.
They are going to go into my '73 F-100 4x4, as soon as I get another engine for my '77 F-250 4x4.

My '75 Ford F250 4x4 "highboy" w/Explorer trim package, currently wearing semi-flat black paint, a transplanted '69 390FE, 4-spd, Dana 60/HD44 and 4.11's, edelbrock 600 carb, hooker headers, 24" glasspacks and 235/85/16 BFG A/T's, it's my daily driver and gets a whopping 8mpg around town but damn is it fun to drive.

Loving the style of the truck man...it's kinda rat rod meets truck, ya know??? Bet that 390 runs like a scalded dog too. Mind if I ask what series of Hooker headers you used?

Thanks Ben, yea that semi-flat black paint job does give it a rat rod sorta look, as far as the headers go i'm honestly not sure what series of Hookers they are, they were installed by the PO when the original 360 bit the dust and he dropped in a rebuilt 390.

Chinese grill shell and inserts. :/
(got me a "new" '75 grill shell ;)
Chinese bumper removed. :)
(setting up a tow bar to tow "bumps-n-dents")
Chinese driver's side fender, wasn't worth painting! :/

"A gal with no brakes" ran into me about the same time Ford
ran out of fenders etc. :/ I don't have to love Ford do I? ;)

-----------------------------

Added a couple hunks of 3" heavy wall square pipe to the tow
bar setup so it can also tow my '91 F150. :) Question I have
is... How wide are the 92's and up to '97(?) frames inside?
...39+3/4" like the 91's? :) Huh? :)

Bumps and dents the frame is.. 33+1/2" inside at the front.

-------------------------

Got my original bumper fixed up for $275 and looks better than
new. Funny, but when it was new (@ 14.2 miles) it had already
been wrecked and the bumper replaced with one from a chrome
shop, so even "when new", the bumper looked better than new.
LOL :)

The chrome plating job on that bumper was better than stock,
believe it? :) They also dammaged the hood and painted it on
the corner and replaced the grill shell too. Always knew there
was something funny about that grill shell and figured it out.

It was made in the first week of Feb '75 and was prob'ly taken
off a new pickup while waiting for a replacement. My pickup
was made and just about everything on it too in the last week
of Jan '75. They told me it was in and went and got it Feb 14
'75. It had a bad clutch and still does, recently figured out
what's prob'ly wrong with it and will fix it when I put the T18
from my parts truck in it after I rebuild the "new" T18. :)

"my '75 Ford pickup looks just like a '75 Ford pickup, believe it? ;)"

ps- Check out the front tires... \--/ 4+1/4" "ride height" as Ford
calls it...

pps- the only "package" I ordered was the "A/C package" ever'
thing else was individually picked/ordered... a favorite "package"
was the "no chrome to get stripped off by the brush" -package.
Another favorite was the "no antenna to get broke-off and no
stinkin radio to hear squawkin' at me, neither" -package. ;)
YMMV? :)

Hey Ben...

I was just going through all these pics, i never knew your rig was wrecked, how'd that happen? PO? you? nice restore anyway, are you going to put your trim back on? was that race track or just dent trim? your truck looks sweet as is but i think the side moulding would just accent that.

As a side note: how does your truck sit so high on stock springs? i know it's stock but it looks as if it has a 2" lift over other highboys, i know i could clear 35's but 37's would be pressing it, i've always admired your rig, it's one of the cleanest i've seen online.

Looked good originally...but as the old saying goes...stock sucks...haha. Definitely like the progress since. As for the fog lights, you talking about the amber lights under the bumper????? Still dunno the answer even if you are though.
