It's a chain...and it's supposed to be covered with a steel guard to keep snow and fingers out. I didn't realize until too late that the inner piece of the cover has to go on before the chain...

Finally got the trailer painted and put back...
Finally got the trailer painted and put back together...it's not pretty- not near as good as it looks in the pics- but protected from rust, anyway.
Hung the plow blade on it, too...hopefully...
