FORScan V2.3.0 has been released!

Users of FORScan already know that the software can be used to program PATS, but the big deal about this particular update is this....

+ New section - Configuration and Programming (requires extended license)
+ Programming function "Module configuration" for:

all vehicles without central configuration, for all modules except PCM

FORScan is about as close to having Ford IDS as you can get, and it's a work in progress that is getting better and better every day. So on that note, you may discover a hiccup along the way when you try to use programming. However, I can say from experience that their development and support team is exceptionally dedicated and nothing short of being absolutely outstanding. I can also confirm that FORScan has been successfully used to solve a common problem, that being, programming after changing tire size and restoring speedometer/odometer accuracy.

Enjoy the update!

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it. :)

I'll download it tomorrow and give it a try. I have a CEL on in the focus. it's a temp sensor on the thermostat it needs a new thermostat (Housing sensor and thermostat all in one unit) stupid thermostat is 150 bucks that's plain crazy.

Some 4 cyl Rangers did this too, and yes, it's about the same $ (insane). Maybe Rockauto to the rescue for this one?

smokey 03-28-2016 07:53 PM

Yeah its only like 90 on rockauto.com
I went out to get a thermostat and the guy behind the counter pulled it up and went holy hell that's expensive. Pulled up the pic and said I know way now.
It only tips the cell with the under temp code once every month or two.

Think of it as a premium scan device for DTC's; this because it will not only pull the OBDII codes that all cars 1996 and new have, but it will pull the enhanced Ford codes (ABS codes are enhanced, and most of the common scanners can't access them). Or said another way and for example, access PID's such as body and chassis codes (Bxxxx and Cxxxx, x is a number). Ford techs get IDS + VDS; Forscan and an ELM or other adapter are about as close to this and at a price anyone can afford. Puts some power in your hand and much more than units such as the Torque app, Ultragauge, scangauge, etc.

There's things it can do, I suggest looking around their website.

cool.

I always wonder the limits of these things. The one thing I dream out is flashing my 1994's pickup computer to tune the modifications. It wouldn't take much but I wondered if there was something that could do this short of a ford tech or a new computer ordered.

Sounds like this thing is an awesome reader but stops before writing data.
