1977 Ford F150 4x4 draglink and tie rods

Hello everyone,

I have a question on a 1977 Ford F150 4X4, I'm rebuilding. I want to replace all the tie rods and drag links, but it seems to be unicorn finding these parts. the 1976-1977 Ford 150 4X4 seems to be only two years and I'm wondering if this is why I can't find the parts, are you guys converting these to some other steering like the 78-79 or where in the world are you finding all the parts in the steering systems? Thanks in advance!!!!

What the manufacture date of your truck? It looks like it could be different depending on whether it was built before or after April 1st of '77 and whether it has manual or power steering.

We offer a heim joint steering upgrade for these trucks you can find here https://left-eye-blind-racing-and-f...umps/products/leb-steering-linkage-heim-joint

or a more traditional tie rod end setup you can find here https://left-eye-blind-racing-and-f...mps/products/leb-steering-linkage-one-ton-tre

Both are a vast improvement in strength and durability over the factory setup. I prefer the heim joint setup, but depends what local cops are like if you want to chance running it on the road (not technically legal to run on the street, even though it's much stronger)

its the early version with the invert "y" steering as I guess its called and it is power steering. It looks like if I change the pitman arm on the steering box to a 1979 I can just put the 1979 steering on it... which would not be a big deal if I was 100% sure it would work since I will have to do the drop arm when I install the lift kit.

The boys in blue would be all over me on this, but it looks a lot stronger than stock by far.

If you decide not to go the LEB route, you are correct, the stock '79 parts will bolt right in and convert the inverted-y to t-style steering. You'll need the pitman arm, drag link, both tie rod ends, the adjustment sleeve and two clamps.

Either way you'll be better off than you are now:cooldude:

1976 F150 4WD uses a different draglink!
D8TZ-3304-B (replaced D7TZ-3304-B) .. Drag Link - 13 5/8" long / Obsolete

1977 F150 4WD; 1978/79 F150 4WD Super Cab & F250 4WD; 1979 F350 4WD

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 27 = 800-543-4959.

Tie rod ends: Does your F150 4WD have an A/T or M/T? What is the axle ratio, last 6 digits of the VIN and does it have free running hubs?
