Project reincarnation.

Figured I'd post my newest project...

Little back story 6 years ago I rolled a 96 single cab short bed F150, 4 years ago I bought a running driving 92 single cab long bed with 4" lift minus the bed and rear bumper. And that's basically as far as it got until a couple weeks back my wife made the comment she wanted to start racing.

So I started tear down on the 92 last weekend, only thing left now is to pull the rear axle and lift. Plan to start some minor paint on it then instal the lift on the 96 and start the process of putting it back together.

Drive train will be the 300 out of the 96 carb swap and rockers from a chevy 292 powered by a old Crane cams ignition box I have laying around. Plan to put a C6 with a shift kit and a 208, axles will be stock 8.8/TTB 44 until i locate a solid 44 for a decent price. Truck will be on 35" super swampers.

You got that right, it got tight in a hurry.

Figure I'd do a update...

Started by stripping the donor 92

Then got the 300 on the stand for stripping/cleaning/paint.

And some paint on it, then put it back together

Got the cab primed and the back/roof painted before it goes back together

Got the chassis home that is getting built on.

Picked up a 77 chassis and axles.

And got the solid 44 under the 96 chassis with some Deaver 5" springs. Just need to wrap up steering and track bar to complete that, but I'll hold off until engim e transmission and cab is on it.

Dropped the pan and pulled the valve body on the C6 to put the transgo shift kit in it.

This morning I sat the engine in the chassis to measure out where I needed to move the transmission crossmember to.

So now I am waiting on a full spool for the 9" and then it is going under the rear end with the 4" lift from the 92. Hopefully get a little more progress done this week after work.

They look huge, but are only 5" lift springs.
