Vacuum Canister Question

I have a 79 F250 4x4 with 300six.
Does the vacuum canister (tomato can) have a check valve in the line? I saw one in a diagram for a V-8 but mine does not have one anywhere and I am wondering if a check valve is used to hold a more constant vacuum to the heater a/c controls???.......bart

there are several routings for 79's

can you tell me more about your truck and where you live ?

I've never seen a check valve there before, I took out all my old vac cans and lines and replaced it with a new can from Jegs..

Mil1on, This truck 79 F250 4x4 300six-B 4 speed has had all it's emissions removed (except PVC). The vacuum canister is routed to a tee with one leg going to tree on intake and the other leg going to the dash controls. I live in Tennessee...........bart

Is that little valve black and white ?

Normally they are linked to the EGR system for spark delay.

Perhaps the person before you only had that hose available for a hose hook up.

I'll check some diagrams for its presence.
