Dealer Gouging Reportedly Sends 2009 Corvette ZR1 To Amazingly Insane Price Of $413,000

$413K was paid for ZR1 #1 rolling off of the line. I believe that happened at the auction in Scottsdale. Otherwise- about $50K over sticker seems to be the norm. Makes me wonder who'd pay it, though- Z06's were going for stoopid money two years ago, now you can get one for a significant discount off of MSRP.

Same story with Challengers- we sold the first two for $20K over. There will always be people out there with more disposable income than common sense.

I believe the first ZR1 (#0001) went for a million at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale IIRC. I watched that auction on TV.

I see two sides Aaron- yes, dealers are (almost by definition) greedy. Ultimately, though, the value of anything is determined by the buyer.

Although I don't think Aaron was referring to the dealers, You are correct. That is why AUCTIONS do so well! All about who wants it most. -whatever the "IT" is!
