2006 F-250 6.0L Tranny Issue

Hey guys. This one is NOT mine, but a friends.

VIN 1FTSW21P66EB05829

Purchased used with 42000 on it. Can you start with giving him an Oasis report?

The problem is, it doesn't want to shift right. Apparently, it only wants to shift when he takes his foot off the gas. Other than that, it seems fine. It isn't chipped or programmed, but he doens't know if it ever was, which is why we'd like to see an Oasis to see if anything's been done in the past or if the warranty has been factory voided for an issue.

Any idea on what the cause of the shifting issue might be?

Thanks.

There were some early issues with shift solenoids on the torqueshift, but that sounds like a programming or engine issue.

So, definetly a dealership trip in order. I'll see if I can get him to bring it by and I can check for any codes first, just to see. I don't really trust our local dealerships diesel tech. When I've talked with him, it seems like I know more about the 6.0 than he does. Kinda scares me, cause I'm not really that smart. lol

BTW- Thanks for the Oasis too. :) Nice to see it hasn't had any prior issues.

Just an idea. when these 6.0 turbos stick it screws with the shift responce. If I get a truck that won't shift with my foot to the floor at lower speeds the first place i'll look is for lack of boost, once your moving along usually works fine and can't tell much difference.

Hadn't thought of that either. When he finally comes in for a code check, I'll ask him about that. Thanks Dave!
