A/C recharge

The a/c in my '91 Yota is getting weak at idle and I want recharge it before Thursday so I can cruise the 10hrs in comfort.

What refrigerant am I going to need to do this???

You still may have R12. Its extremely expensive. If you do, now would be the time to retrofit to R134A.

You can probably get it done for less than $200. With R12, you'll have 300 just in freon.

The kits usually have everything necessary, fittings, o-rings, springs, and compatible oil. The R134a systems have PAG oil which is not compatible with the R12. The kits have ester oil that is compatible with both systems.
