Can anyone tell my where exactly the exhaust check valve is on a 302? All the guy told me at the shop I had it checked out at said is that it connects to a tube/hose and is up against the fire wall.

Probably talking about the valve on the tube that runs from the rear of each head. The valve sticks up behind the pass side of the engine.
