Anyone know the actual size of 36x14.5 groundhawgs. ive been told that Hawgs run small, but the only ones ive ever had the pleasure of measuring where 40x17 (which were 37" tall)
Ive been told they run 5-10% small...and if thats true, then id be running a 33-34" tire..which is no good because i am building the truck for 36-37" tires!

Would i have to buy 38x15" tires to get tires that actually measure 36" tall and 14.5" wide?

I have had both 40's and 38's. The 40's were 37" and the 38's were almost 36".

What about the widths, were those as advertised or smaller?

Also, for running 14.5" wide tires would a 10" or 12" wide rim be better? (tires will probably never be aired lower then 5psi)

I would go with a 12 inch rim. It will keep them closer to 14.5 wide.

I see.

Well im hoping that the 36"ers are at least 35" tall...i know i want to run hawgs for my next tire, but am afraid that 38"s will be to wide and heavy for the TTB and 3.55 gears (until i can get regeared) but i also dont want the 36"s if they are only really 33" tires...

I would just go for the 38's. The TTB will live half assed ok. The gears may not be happy, but if you eventually wanna run 38's, just go for it.

38.5x15 So those should be 36-37" tall? Sounds good to me.

The only concern i have...is can the TTB can handle such a wide tire? I guess we'l find out!

Considering the number of kids running 39.5"s on toyota front IFS the 3/4 solid TTB should be fine i suppose

My TTB lasted with 38 15.5's. I had the truck for probably about 7 years and wheeled it at least every other weekend.
