Sending Unit Issue

Got a 2000 F250 in the shop that has a sending unit issue. It runs out reading 1/4 tank. Sending unit was replaced a few months ago as well. Having an issue finding any kind of TSB to point me in the right direction as well as electrical specs at the sending unit and at the harness side of the unit. Any help appreciated. I'm thinking I may get in there and the pickup tube is broken(again) we'll see.

On the pickup, about 3 inches above the bottom, theres a valve that has a tendency to pop out of there or stick open. That will cause it to suck air.

Any way to remedy that? a Permanent "shadetree" fix perhaps?

If you can find something that will fit over it then zip tie it on.
