the c9 is a casting number.. telling you that engine block is a 1969 casting.

what engine is it? if its 302 or 351W then ya got a good pre 74 with stronger walls cause the higher nickel content and thicker webbing.

But, the C90E block was cast in 1968. 8K23 = October (K) 23, 1968 (8).

Casting numbers are foundry marks only, cannot be cross referenced to Ford part numbers.

302 introduced Spring 1968 for Passenger Cars. Bronco, E100/300, F100: 302 intro'd for the 1969 model year, that began September 1968.
