Im pretty sure they make engine swap mounts for that install. LMC truck offers a bolt in crossmember to do the swap.

IMHO, if you have your heart set on swapping in a FE/FT family engine, I wouldn't do a 360. Using the exact same parts as a 360 swap, I would do preferably a 390....heck, even a 352 I believe would be better than a 360. 360's just aren't that stellar of an engine. From the factory new in a like '68 truck, a 360 would burn more gas than a 390 and have noticeably less performance.

I agree, A 360 FE is a bad choice, I'd install a a Chevy small block before I would use a 360. I have had two 360s in two different Ford PUs 2 wd & 4wd. They had "sucky" gas mileage, drank oil,and had little power. A 390 is a nice engine. Even a 429 or 460 is better. I will sit back and hide now.smilieIagree

The 360/390s share the exact same block, only the crank, rods and pistons are different. The heads are the same.

B&S: 352: 4.00 x 3.50 / 360: 4.05 x 3.50 / 390: 4.05 x 3.78.

You don't think a 390 won't suck gas? It won't be one bit better than a 360, and it doesn't really matter what size the engine is, because...

These trucks have the aerodynamics of a brick...a gallon of regular gas was 20-25 cents back then...and no one gave a damn about MPG.

Maybe so, But I had a friend with a 59 F-250 stake bed, running a 352 granny
4 speed & 4x4. It ran well went up Hwy. 395 and while I don't have mileage figures, I have no memory of it being unacceptable. However I used to have a '58 Ranchero. A 352 running a 4-speed & a 406" Tri-power. It gave me really bad BADBADBAD! mileage, would you believe?? 6 (SIX) MPG.

Just my 2 cents, but if im building one of these trucks im not really concerned with the MPG's. But thats just me.
