seam along the truck bed

Alright, I did some serious prep work on the seam along the bed where someone had filled it in with some sort of liquid metal epoxy to remove the rust, prime and paint. First off, should there be some sort of filler in there, if so, did I mess up removing all that old stuff and should I have put in some sort of material before priming and painting?

Will try to take some this evening and post. The seem itself is about a quarter inch deep and 1/8" wide. Had to use a brunch on metal primer to get in there. Spray metal etching primer wouldn't even get in there.
