Another 400 build

400 engine for Bob Freemire. This engine is powder coated %100. Block, heads, oil pan, timing cover & valve covers are coated a different color.

I could honestly make love to that. Out of curiousity though, why'd you go black? I understand that black dissipates heat quicker, but I didn't think it mattered in a running state either running down the road or with a good fan at idle. So if that's the case, only after you shut down will you benefit from painting the engine black, correct? Seeing as black absorbs more heat than it dissipates, it's not such a good idea to use on an exposed engine, like say on a motorcycle, correct?

The intake is a 351C Air Gap...and I know there's a hydraulic roller cam in there...beyond that he says it's basic.

I picked up a 77 400 engine the other day. I was kinda excited about the 77 block until I got it apart and found it was already 60 over. Rats. I will keep looking

^^^Ouch...didn't realize it was that expensive to sleeve. You could easily get 8 400's for what a sleeving would cost.

Yeah sleeving 8 holes is not a good option. I will just have to keep an eye out for another D7TE block.
